Coastal Town
Lyrics
Transcribed by Rene Rojas
Goodbye dark sky
And slow trains that roll by
And grey skies that mark my
Chances i've passed by
It sounds like eternity
It sounds like eternity
In a coastal town, after the rain
You're my brightest star, you're my best friend
In a coastal town after the rain
You're my brightest start, we met at the start
My heart is a goldmine, from a land that's lost
Seeing a dream fade, I sailed off course
It sounds like eternity
It sounds like eternity
In a coastal town, after the rain
You're my brightest star, you're my best friend
In a coastal town, after the rain
You're my brightest star, you're my best friend
I talk to you and it feels all the same
One more minute's enough to pretend
And if I ever want to see him again
Just close my eyes and think back to the end
After the rain
After the rain
So I talk to you and it still feels the same
One more minute's enough to pretend
And if I ever want to see him again
Just close my eyes and wait 'til the end
A coastal town
After the rain
A coastal town
After the rain
In a coastal town
Still feels the same
A coastal town
After the rain
After the rain
After the rain

Other opinions
Smiley says of his
pre-release copy:
mid-tempo tune, which sounds uncannily like late eighties Erasure in places.
hard to work out if this is a happy or sad tune, but going by the rest of the
album, i'd plump for the latter.
example lyrics:
"In a coastal town, after the rain
You're my brightest star, my best friend
In a coastal town, after the rain
You're my brightest star, we met at the start (?)"
