Are We Gonna Be AlrightLyricsTranscribed by Michael Krechmer Is there a better way/ Than what we know of?/ Anger's wailing through the dead of nighttime too/ Do we know better ways/ Than what we're showing?/ Locked up breaking through the shadows' arms/ Are we gonna be alright?/ Are we gonna be alright?/ Some are never gonna get as close/ As we have learned to/ And even if they might/ We'll end up alright/ Summer's never gonna be the same again/ We never felt it once/ The breath of heaven/ Swept away the halos from my mind/ And still you talk of him/ As being greater/ No one's ever gonna reach this high/ Are we gonna be alright?/ Are we gonna be alright?/ Some are never gonna get as close/ As we have learned to/ And even if they might/ We'll end up alright/ Summer's never gonna be the same again/ Are we gonna be alright?/ Are we gonna be alright?/ Some are never gonna get as close/ As we have learned to/ And even if they might/ We'll end up alright/ Summer's never gonna be the same again (Summer's never gonna be the same again)/ Summer's never gonna be the same again/ You know summer's never gonna be the same/ Credits
SleevenotesThe liner notes say:This Matthew Sweet/Springfields song wowed everyone on our '98 tours so we recorded it at the end of that year as a B-side for 52 Pilot. The intention was for it to sound like The Raspberries but it didn't so we shelved it. The lyrics are often misquoted and we can promise that "Angus" is no longer "swelling" in the dead of nighttime.
